The global economy is in a recession that can hardly be hampered. Businesses across the world are facing demand obstacles. The majority of businesses have lowered their prices simply to remain in business. This general activity has promoted future development. Competition is tough as supply is high and demand is low thus a favorable price has been established. It is thus pertinent to capture this unique opportunity to develop your land.

Falling Cost of Raw Materials and Transportation

People, who own land today, are considering the development of different type of infrastructures. It is certain that it is the right time to build a house of your choice. The prices to construct, in the market are at its lowest. The cost can hardly decrease more. This is because the price of raw material, transportation cost (with the fall of oil price) and other overheads has slashed down in the economic downturns. The costs of materials are much cheaper than they were a year ago. 2009 is a year of price war, only the most competitive offers will be granted a buyer. This is why the cost of construction has decreased as a result.

Falling Cost of Labour

Labour cost of construction does represent a large proportion of the gross cost of various projects. The fall of raw material cost and transport cost had initially raised its proportion. The trend is now reversing as job cuts are casting the labour market as a tsunami. Job security is at a trembling level, labourer prefers to remain in their actual employment even if granted lower salaries. The drop in salary has pressured down overall constructing price even further. The construction of a house is considered today to be very cheap, affordable instead of rather being expensive. Businesses have succumbed in the face of recession and the ultimate winners are the ones who have chosen to renovate or to erect a new personal building such as a house.

Promotions and Packages

The desperate businessmen are getting close to the customer. They are inquiring on needs, expectation and wants. In respect, to these criteria, promotion packages are devised. The promotion packages are highly attractive and rather cheap compared to the final results. This means that both preferable prices and quality are available to buyers in order to satisfy expectations and needs. The companies are in cut-throat competition and only the experienced manager will be able to capture demand. These demands are in the ultimate benefit of the customer.

The recession is bringing a win-to-win position for those who have job security. They can work and earn while simultaneously benefiting from both cheap lands and low construction cost. It is thus possible to build an encompassing miraculous future with less money but yet as solid as ever. The materials are genuine and the workers are striving for their security. Thus, there is no risk of poor quality. These are times when quality prevails all over the industry of construction.

You are very right, now is the time to buy land and develop it. I would advise peole with land to hold onto it untill land prices go up again.

Interesting Gregory and I wish I was in a situation to buy. Just not the right time however, especially since I'll be taking a hit on my current home.

Thanks for sharing this.

Hi gregory, thanks for this great information. It seems such a catch-22, For the majority, the "best" time to buy and build, is the "worst" time, because there are no funds to do so. I think in some ways, it is another example of how the rich just keep getting richer and the poor just keep getting poorer.

God bless you! Teresa

Great article, Gregory. I was just reading earlier about all the discounts that businesses are giving to consumers to help fight the economic woes of our country. Some Cinemas are slashing prices certain days of the week back to prices of the 70's. There were a few others, but my memory is slipping (as usual). Oh, well, you covered it quite well. Thanks for sharing.

WOw, finally one of my land articles gets comments. I am a Land Writer, because I work with a land investment company, and writing about land is a great marketing tool.

On this website, I noticed I could not become popular writing just about land. I had to write about other topics first. Many of which (especially the Normal Person vs. Bible Thumber) become pretty popular.

In the future, look for more writing from me about controversial topics (Stem Cells, Abortions...Oh yea, Imma open a can of worms on that one).

Also, if your interested in land investment, click on the link at the bottom of the article here.

Thank you all, and except some "interested" articles from me in the future.
